GAME 25: HURRICANES (10-8-4) AT BLUE JACKETS (15-8-1)
NATIONWIDE ARENA, 7 P.M., TUESDAY

RADIO: 97.1 FM & BLUEJACKETS.COM
The Blue Jackets will try to start a new winning streak when they host the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday, which will complete their sixth of 17 back-to-backs this season.
Columbus had a season-high six-game winning streak halted by the Montreal Canadiens in a 3-1 defeat Monday at the Bell Centre, which had been the longest active streak in the NHL and was tied for fifth-longest in franchise history.
The Blue Jackets, whose 15 wins are tied for the most in team history through 24 games, had 10 more shots than Montreal, 38-28, but the Canadiens went up 2-0 in the first 8:10 of the game and never relinquished the lead.
"They got two goals in the first, and that's what really got us," said rookie center Pierre-Luc Dubois, who scored the Jackets' only goal. "We fought back, but it was a little too late. We have to play a good 60 minutes. We bounced back, but it was the first period that really hurt us."

Columbus hit the crossbar and goal posts three times, and goalie Carey Price made 37 saves for Montreal in his second game back from a 10-game injury absence. Price, who had a 36-save shutout in his return Saturday against the Buffalo Sabres, turned away all 13 shots Columbus put on goal in five power plays.
That included three power plays within the first 10 minutes of the second period.
"We had quite a few opportunities, but it's huge in games like these," Blue Jackets forward Boone Jenner said of the 0-for-5 power-play performance. "They got one [on the power play] and we didn't, and we had every opportunity. It's just about finding a way to get it done. When you've got a chance, you've got to bury it."
They'll try it again less than 24 hours after the game ended in Montreal. Columbus is a combined 0-for-5 on power plays in the first two games against the Hurricanes, which were split by each team and dominated by defensive play.
SERIES RECORD
2017-18 Season: (1-1-0). This is the third of four games this season. The Blue Jackets will play the finale of the season series Dec. 16 at PNC Arena.
All-time: 15-14-3 overall; 7-7-1 at Nationwide Arena
SERIES SNAPSHOT
First game: The Blue Jackets won 2-1 in overtime at PNC Arena, with both goals coming off the stick of rookie forward Sonny Milano. He scored the game's first goal at 10:01 of the third period, and then scored with 31 seconds left in OT to give Columbus the second point. Bobrovsky was outstanding in net, making 37 saves.
Second game:Exactly one month after the series-opener, the Hurricanes won, 3-1, at Nationwide Arena in another low-scoring, tight-checking contest. Brandon Dubinsky opened the scoring just 5:35 into the game, but that was the lone goal the Blue Jackets could muster. Jordan Staal scored two goals to lead the Hurricanes, who got 25 saves from Cam Ward. Bobrovsky made 26 saves for the Blue Jackets in his first of eight straight starts.

QUOTABLES
"I'm not going to say we go day-to-day. I say that to [reporters] because I don't want to give information on what's going to happen, but we do have a forecast and we look at the schedule, and it's certainly not based on wins and losses, and play. But that could change. If we feel [Bobrovsky's] tired, it may change the schedule, but we have a pretty good idea of what we want to do with our goalies." - Tortorella on managing the Blue Jackets' workload in net.
"This is part of the process for a young guy, to learn to be a pro, and learn to handle some situations when you're not feeling perfect. Come October, November, you never should feel perfect. You're not playing the game the right way if you're perfect. It's part of the growing cycle for young guys." - Tortorella on Alexander Wennberg, who's close to returning after missing six games with an upper-body injury.
"You're still going to change your lines, but I'd like to get at least two guys with each line playing together. I don't want to blow up all the lines." - Tortorella on establishing more consistency in his forward lines.
"I actually probably did get a little frustrated at first. It almost made it worse. I was getting so frustrated that maybe I was playing even worse defensively. I just had to deal with it, get my mind right, start playing the way he wants and doing the little things." - Blue Jackets rookie Sonny Milano, on bouncing back from early-season reduction in ice time by Tortorella.
