KELOWNA, B.C. - Colton Sissons scored twice as the Kelowna Rockets beat the Prince George Cougars 7-3 in Western Hockey League play Wednesday.

Sissons' goals were part of a four-goal third period for Kelowna (9-11-3).

Kevin Smith, Carter Rigby, Tyrell Goulbourne, Cody Chikie and Jessey Astles each chipped in with singles for the Rockets.

Cody Carlson, Charles Inglis and Troy Bourke had one apiece for Prince George (6-17-2), who arrived in Kelowna at 6:30 a.m. after playing Tuesday night.

The Cougars matched Kelowna until the third when fatigue appeared to set in.

"(The Cougars) had a very tough travel schedule," said Rockets head coach Ryan Huska. "That's not an easy thing what they did, and I thought they played hard all night considering that trip. . . . But I liked the way we responded in the third.

"When you give up a late goal like that, sometimes you have a tendency just to deflate, but I thought our guys did a good job of coming on harder in the third."

Adam Brown made 19 saves for Kelowna, while Devon Fordyce countered by stopping 24 shots.
