DENVER - Colorado Avalanche centre Paul Stastny will have surgery Tuesday to repair his right forearm fractured in last week's game against Phoenix.

Stastny broke the arm after blocking a shot by the Coyotes' Olli Jokinen in a 5-4 overtime win Dec. 23 and is expected to be out six-to-eight weeks.

Team spokesman Damen Zier said coach Tony Granato spoke about Stastny's surgery and status at Sunday's practice.
