Gabriel Landeskog will be out for the Colorado Avalanche because of a knee injury.

The forward will have surgery Monday and there is no timeline for his return, coach Jared Bednar said Saturday.
"Hopefully he'll be available for us for the stretch line, but he's going to miss some time," Bednar said, according to The Athletic. "It's something going on with his knee that's been bothering him for a while. It was getting worse."
Landeskog has scored 59 points (30 goals, 29 assists) in 52 games this season. He played 18:42 and had seven shots on goal in a 2-0 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday.
The Avalanche captain leads them in goals and is fifth in points.
Samuel Girard is out four weeks with a lower-body injury. The defenseman has scored 27 points (four goals, 22 assists) in 56 games this season.
The Avalanche acquired defenseman Josh Manson in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks on Monday for defenseman prospect Drew Helleson annd a second-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.
Colorado (41-13-5), first in the NHL standings, visits the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday (10:30 p.m. ET; BSW, ALT ESPN+, NHL LIVE).
