Landeskog, Avalanche hold off Stars

Rantanen adds goal, two assists for Colorado

Gabriel Landeskog had two goals and an assist for the Colorado Avalanche in a 6-5 win against the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center.

Mikko Rantanen had a goal and two assists, Tyson Jost and Matt Calvert each had two assists, and Semyon Varlamov made 32 saves for Colorado.

Tyler Seguin had a goal and an assist, John Klingberg had two assists and Colton Point made 21 saves for Dallas.

Landeskog gave the Avalanche a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 2:49, and Rantanen made it 2-0 with a power-play goal at 4:07.

Jason Dickinson cut it to 2-1 at 6:13 before Jamie Benn tied it 2-2 with a power-play goal at 14:21. Tyson Barrie gave Colorado a 3-2 lead at 18:06.

Landeskog scored to make it 4-2 at 4:47 of the second period, but Radek Faksa made it 4-3 at 17:04.

Colin Wilson extended the lead to 5-3 at 18:44, and Sheldon Dries made it 6-3 at 5:15 of the third period. Devin Shore scored to make it 6-4 at 9:28 before Seguin cut it to 6-5 at 19:00.
