Avalanche congratulate Denver Nuggets on NBA championship

From one champion to another.

The Colorado Avalanche took to Twitter to congratulate the Denver Nuggets on winning their first NBA championship Monday.

The reigning Stanley Cup champions (at least for a little while longer) posted a congratulatory graphic on social media, recognizing that Colorado has been the "state of champions" over the last few years.

The Avalanche and Nuggets both play their home games at Ball Arena in Denver.

Before the game Monday, the Avalanche gave the Nuggets some words of encouragement on Twitter.

The Nuggets then defeated the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the NBA Finals to win the best-of-seven series, 4-1.

All the city of Denver has to do now is dust off the Avalanche's championship parade plans from last year for the Nuggets to use.
