I took my brother to the Ducks / Sharks game last Thursday. It seemed like a good idea because it was his birthday and I wanted to get over the Habs’ devastating sweep from the night before. It was AWESOME!
I love the fans down there. Good people. Fun atmosphere. Every time I go, I have a great time. Sadly, I live 15 minutes from Staples but I far prefer driving the hour to Anaheim. The Ducks organization is growing on me.
With all the talk about Getzlaf and Bobby Ryan
I had completely forgotten that the team is LOADED. And I mean LOADED.
It was great watching ex-Bruin, Thornton, completely disappear in the Playoffs again. Now those are the Bruins I remember. I got to live out my dream of the 8th seed beating the number one seed, so that was nice.
The Ducks look strong. I'll be watching on Saturday and hopefully they can finish it off.
What I liked to see is that they swapped out Giguere for Hiller. It seems obvious, but it works and Hiller is doing great.
I wanted the Habs to do that. I like Montreal's Jaroslav Halak
a lot. I think he's a great goalie. He's been a wall this year and I wanted to see him get the chance that I feel he earned. It bugged me that he never got his shot.
But I don't get the huge uproar about Carey Price
's "reactions." I read about them before I watched them and was expecting something really distasteful. He just looked young to me. And surprise, surprise... he IS young.
I don't fancy myself any sort of sage but I was told some good advice when I was young and hopefully he's got someone for that. He's got a good shot and I'd hate to see him self-destruct.
As for this year? Ducks? Flames? Not sure yet...
