Cole gives Canadiens shootout win over Senators @NHLdotcom

MONTREAL (AP) - Erik Cole scored the shootout winner to give the Montreal Canadiens a 4-3 preseason victory over the Ottawa Senators on Friday night.

Max Pacioretty converted Montreal's first attempt after scoring a pair of power-play goals in the second to key the Canadiens' comeback from a 3-0 deficit. The Canadiens' left wing played his second game since returning from a broken vertebra, the result of a controversial hit by Boston's Zdeno Chara on Mar. 8.

Scott Gomez drew Montreal even at 3 with 36.5 seconds left in the third when the puck went in off Ottawa captain Daniel Alfredsson.

Zack Smith scored goals 1:03 apart in the first period and Milan Michalek got the Senators' third goal midway through the second.
