CALGARY - Cody Sylvester scored the game-deciding goal in the shootout to lead the Calgary Hitmen to a 5-4 win over the Prince Albert Raiders in Western Hockey League action Friday.
Jimmy Bubnick and Chase Clayton had a goal and an assist each in regulation for the Hitmen (16-13-2), who snapped a two-game losing streak. Brooks Macek and Collin Bowman also scored, while Sylvester had a pair of assists.
Justin Maylan had a goal and an assist for the Raiders (9-21-3), whose winning streak ended at three games. Mike Winther, Brandon Herrod and Mark McNeill, on a penalty shot in the third period, also scored.
Brandon Glover started in net for Calgary, but was pulled at the 4:19 mark of the opening frame after giving up two goals on four shots. Chris Driedger then made 20 saves to pick up the win in a relief appearance.
At the other end of the ice, Eric Williams stopped 26 of 30 shots he faced in regulation before surrendering the game-deciding goal to Sylvester on the third shot he faced in the shootout.
