Cody Eakin scores two goals as red-hot Blades slice Broncos 5-2 @NHLdotcom

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - The Swift Current Broncos stretched their season-high winning streak to eight games as they skated past the Saskatoon Blades 5-2 Tuesday in the WHL.

It was their fourth win over the Blades in eight days. The Broncos received a pair of goals from 16-year-old forward Cody Eakin and singles from Levi Nelson, Zack Smith, and Dale Weise.

Saskatoon replied with goals from Derek Hulak and Curtis Hamilton.

Broncos netminder Travis Yonkman stopped 25 of 27 shots to post his 24th win of the season, while Blades goaltender Braden Holtby turned aside 35 of 40 shots in the loss to drop his record to 15-27-2-2.

Swift Current improves their record to 31-20-0-5 and pulled even with the Moose Jaw Warriors for fourth place in the Eastern Conference, while Saskatoon holds down 10th in the Conference after falling to 18-32-3-2.
