Cody Almond scores in overtime to give Rockets 3-0 series lead over Blazers

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Centre Cody Almond scored at 12:41 of overtime to give the Kelowna Rockets a 3-2 victory over the Kamloops Blazers in a Western Hockey League playoff game Tuesday night.

Kelowna leads the best-of-seven first-round series 3-0, with Game 4 scheduled for Kelowna on Wednesday. Almond forced overtime when he scored from a scramble with 2.9 seconds left in the third period.

Seth Compton and Giffen Nyren scored for Kamloops, which was outshot 39-18.

Justin Leclerc made 36 saves for Kamloops.

Jamie Benn had Kelowna's other goal, at 14:05 of the third period.

Kelowna goaltender Mark Guggenberger turned aside 16 shots.
