Climie stops 34, Waither scores winner as Stars beat Abbotsford 4-2 @NHLdotcom

CEDAR PARK, Texas - Matt Climie made 34 saves and Francis Waither scored the game-winner on a power play midway through the third period as the Texas Stars defeated the Abbotsford Heat 4-2 Saturday night in American Hockey League action.

Climie kept Texas in the game through the first two periods, making 24 saves as the Stars were outshot 26-8 but managed to escape with a 2-2 tie heading into the third.

Scott McCulloch made it 4-2 less than a minute after Waither's winner, while Greg Rallo added a goal and an assist and Maxime Fortunus also scored for Texas (27-13-7).

Cam Cunning and David Van der Gulik scored second-period goals for the Heat (21-21-7), who are winless in their last four games.

Abbotsford netminder Matt Keetley stopped 14 shots.
