Clarke scores winner on a penalty shot as the Spitfires beat the Petes 6-3 @NHLdotcom

WINDSOR, Ont. - Michael Clarke scored the winner on a penalty shot and Jaroslav Pavelka made 30 saves as the Windsor Spitfires defeated the Peterborough Petes 6-3 on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League action.

Clarke was awarded the penalty shot in the third period after he was hauled down on a breakaway with 9:37 remaining in the game.

Ben Johnson scored twice for the Spitfires (13-13-3) while Adrian Robertson, Nick Czinder and Kerby Rychel added singles.

Austin Watson, Joey West and Derek Mathers replied for the Petes (14-9-3).

Andrew D'Agostini made 32 saves in defeat.

Windsor was 1-for-6 on the power play as Peterborough failed to score on any of their four opportunities with the man advantage.
