Christian Thomas scores only goal of the shootout as Generals beat Majors 3-2 @NHLdotcom

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Christian Thomas scored the only goal in the shootout Friday as the Oshawa Generals defeated the Ontario Hockey League-leading Mississauga St. Michael's Majors 3-2.

Dan Altshuller made 34 saves to get the win for Oshawa (4-4-1), while J.P. Anderson stopped 41 shots for Mississauga (8-1-1).

Tied 1-1 in the third, generals captain Boone Jenner scored on the power play midway through the period before Mississauga's Spencer Cobbold replied with 2:16 remaining to send it to overtime.

Sebastian Uvira opened the scoring for Oshawa in the first and Mississauga's Joseph Cramarossa scored shorthanded later in the period.

The Generals scored once on five power-play opportunities while the Majors went 0-for-3 with the man advantage.
