Christian Fischer signed a one-year, $1.125 million contract with the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday.

The 26-year-old forward had 27 points (13 goals, 14 assists) in 80 games for the Arizona Coyotes last season, his most since he had NHL career highs in goals (15), assists (18) and points (33) as a rookie in 2017-18.

"I've been in Arizona for my whole career, so this is obviously a huge change to make," Fischer said. "I talked to a lot of teams, but for some reason, the Red Wings just resonated with me."

Selected by Arizona in the second round (No. 32) of the 2015 NHL Draft, Fischer has 111 points (56 goals, 55 assists) in 398 regular-season games and one assist in nine Stanley Cup Playoff games.
