PLYMOUTH, Mi. - Chris Terry had the lone shootout goal as the Plymouth Whalers earned a 4-3 comeback win over the Kingston Frontenacs in Sunday afternoon Ontario Hockey League action at the Compuware Arena.
Plymouth (28-19-2-2) trailed heading into the third period until Vern Cooper banged in a rebound with 5:17 left. The Whalers then had to kill off a penalty late in regulation and another in overtime to get to the shootout. Kingston finished the game 2-for-10 on the power play, while the Whalers went 0-for-5.
Andrew Fournier and Brett Bellemore had the other Plymouth goals, while netminder Matt Hackett turned aside 31 shots before denying all three Frontenac efforts in the shootout.
Nathan Moon paced Kingston (14-31-0-2) with a goal and an assist. Bobby Mignardi and Josh Brittain also scored for the Frontenacs.
Kingston goalie John Murray finished with 40 saves, plus two of three in the shootout.
