Chris Pronger caught up in Justin Bieber fever

PHILADELPHIA -- Chris Pronger played 18 seasons in the NHL, won the Stanley Cup in 2007 with the Anaheim Ducks, was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015, and on Jan. 27 was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players presented by Molson Canadian.

But a photo of

during the 2017 NHL All-Star Celebrity Shootout has turned him into a viral sensation.
During the game on Saturday at Staples Center, the 6-foot-6, 220-pound Pronger, 42, chased down Bieber (5-9, 145) and pinned him against the boards in the corner. The infamous photo captured Pronger sporting a devlish grin as he held Bieber againt the glass.

When asked if he was as happy to hit Bieber as he was to win the Stanley Cup, Pronger said, "I wouldn't go that far. But I certainly have been getting a lot of mileage out of the photo."
Pronger, who was captain of the Flyers in 2011-12, took part in the Flyers' Captain's Night celebration on Thursday, prior to their game against the Montreal Canadiens at Wells Fargo Center. But the first questions from the media focused on Bieber.
"Just good fun," Pronger said. "Good fun. Just a massage to his back, face wash. Had the full spectrum."
When asked if there was a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety for the hit from behind, Pronger said it would result in a $5 fine. Pronger has worked in that department since Oct. 10, 2014.
