Chiefs score five in first en route to win over Ice @NHLdotcom

SPOKANE, Wash. - Drayson Bowman scored two of the Spokane Chiefs' five first-period goals en route to a 6-2 Western Hockey League victory over the Kootenay Ice on Saturday night.

Mitch Wahl, Jared Spurgeon, Steve Kuhn and Dustin Donaghy also scored for Spokane (18-9-0-3), which trails the Tri-City Americans by seven points in the U.S. Division standings. Bowman added two assists and Brett Bartman also recorded a pair of helpers.

Michael Stickland and Brayden McNabb scored for the Ice (16-13-2-3), who currently sit third in Central Division.

Chiefs goalie Dustin Tokarski made 26 saves, while Kootenay netminder Nathan Lieuwen stopped 16 shots.
