Chiefs hand Americans first home loss in 14 games by beating them 3-1 @NHLdotcom

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Mac Engel made 37 saves, earning the game's first star, as the Spokane Chiefs defeated the host Tri-City Americans 3-1 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.

Brenden Kichton, Collin Valcourt and Dominik Uher each scored for the Chiefs (23-14-6).

Brian Williams scored the lone goal for the Americans (34-11-0), who had their 13-game home-ice winning streak snapped.

Eric Comrie turned aside 20 shots in defeat.

Spokane went 1 for 6 on the power play while Tri-City failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.
