Chiefs eliminate Giants from WHL playoffs with 3-1 victory @NHLdotcom

SPOKANE, Wash. - Ondrej Roman scored the series-winning goal and the Spokane Chiefs eliminated the Vancouver Giants from the Western Hockey League playoffs with a 3-1 win Monday.

The Chiefs won the Western Conference semifinal 4-2 and will meet the Tri-City Americans in the next round, guaranteeing a team from the state of Washington will make the WHL final. Jared Cowan and Chris Bruton also scored for Tri-City, while Dustin Tokarski made 16 saves.

Mario Bliznak scored for the Giants, who got 23 saves from Tyson Sexsmith.
