KENNEWICK, Wash. - Judd Blackwater scored two third-period goals to lead the Spokane Chiefs to a 4-1 victory over the Tri-City Americans in Game 7 of the Western Hockey League Western Conference final.

The Chiefs will face the Lethbridge Hurricanes for the Ed Chynoweth Cup in the WHL final.

"Words can't explain how we are feeling right now," Blackwater said. "We had a little talk in the dressing room after the second period, we had to come out a little harder than we did the first two periods, we were a little sloppy. We came out and took it to them."

Drayson Bowman and David Rutherford also scored in the third for the Chiefs. Dustin Tokarski, who was named the series MVP, made 31 saves.

Colton Yellow Horn scored the lone goal for the U.S. Division champion Americans, while Chet Pickard made 16 saves.

The Chiefs won their first conference title since 2000. The WHL final will begin Friday at Spokane Arena.
