Chicago Wolves beat Hamilton Bulldogs 4-1 in American Hockey League matinee @NHLdotcom

HAMILTON - Tim Miller had two goals and an assist to help the Chicago Wolves to a 4-1 victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs in an American Hockey League matinee Tuesday.

Darren Haydar had three assists and added an empty-net goal to help the Wolves improve to 5-5-0-2.

Miller opened the scoring late in the first period when his shot deflected off a defenceman's skate and past goaltender Nathan Lawson. Miller added another goal 23 seconds later when a drop pass ricocheted off a Bulldogs player and trickled over the goal-line.

Hamilton (5-6-1-0) cut the lead in half at 6:11 of the second period when Brian Willsie's shot from the blue-line was redirected by Alexander Avtsin past Chicago netminder Matt Climie.

Bill Sweatt restored Chicago's two-goal lead a few minutes later on the power play.

Climie made 26 saves while Lawson stopped 30 shots. Some 6,528 fans were in attendance, mostly children from Hamilton-area schools.
