The Chicago Blackhawks placed forward Artem Anisimov on injured reserve Thursday because of an upper-body injury. The move is retroactive to Dec. 18.
Anisimov did not play in each of the Blackhawks' past two games, a 4-1 win against the San Jose Sharks on Sunday and a 4-3 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday. He ranks third on the Blackhawks in goals (14) and points (27) in 32 games. The Blackhawks, who host the Colorado Avalanche on Friday (8:30 p.m. ET; CSN-CH, ALT, NHL.TV) recalled forward Tanner Kero from Rockford of the American Hockey League. Kero leads Rockford with 20 points, including seven goals.
