NASHVILLE -- Anton Forsberg made 42 saves, including 22 in the third period, to help the Chicago Blackhawks to a 2-1 win against the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday.

David Kampf and Vinnie Hinostroza scored for the Blackhawks (24-19-7), who have won two consecutive games and are 12-9-4 on the road.
"I think today we actually worked as a team," Forsberg said. "We did a really good job of keeping most of the shots outside. I know it was a lot of shots, but it didn't feel like it was that many hard scoring chances. So, in that way, I feel like it was a team effort."

The Predators (29-12-7) lost in regulation for the first time since Jan. 2, ending an eight-game point streak (6-0-2).
"I think our start could've been better," Predators defenseman Roman Josi said. "We didn't execute that well. After that, it was a fast game. They played fast. I thought we played pretty fast too. We had our chances and just couldn't get another goal."
Kampf gave the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead at 3:03 of the first period on a wrist shot. Predators forward Austin Watson and Josi misplayed the puck, and Kampf gathered the turnover and beat Predators goaltender Juuse Saros for his second goal of the season.
"I thought they had good pace," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said of Kampf's line. "They obviously scored a big goal right off the bat, but I thought they had zone time. They all have energy and they all have quickness, and they managed the puck well."
Kyle Turris scored for the Predators to tie the game 1-1 at 2:12 of the second period on a shot from the slot. Craig Smith intercepted Forsberg's pass behind the net and got it to Scott Hartnell, who found Turris alone in front. Turris beat Forsberg, who was trying to get back in position.

"[Forsberg] made some key saves for them," Predators forward Austin Watson said. "We hit a couple posts, and that's the story. But when you're battling back right from the get-go trying to play a little bit of catch up after starting slow, that's what happens."
Hinostroza gave the Blackhawks a 2-1 lead at 14:33 of the second period on a one-timer on the rush. Nick Schmaltz dropped the puck back for Hinostroza, who beat Saros on the blocker side.
"It's a huge game against our big rival there and somebody in our division so to come out with a win is huge," Hinostroza said. "It's big for us in the locker room to give us some confidence going forward here."

They said it

"He was huge for us tonight. I think the way he played, he kept us in it early. He made some big saves throughout the first couple periods too and gave us a chance to keep playing our game and establish what we wanted to establish. And then, in the third period, he was making some big stops... Some stick out for sure, but he was huge for us tonight." -- Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook on Anton Forsberg
"We were just slow. They were faster than us. We weren't quick with our decision making, we weren't quick with our legs, and as a result, they got a lead." -- Predators forward Austin Watson on the start of the first period
