CHI@DAL: Suter makes nifty move to win game in OT

Pius Suter scored 2:15 into overtime to give the Chicago Blackhawks their third straight win, 2-1 against the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center in Dallas on Tuesday.

Suter skated around Stars defenseman John Klingberg and shot off the left post for Chicago (6-4-4), which is 6-1-3 in its past 10 games.
"I actually didn't know it was in until I heard [Blackhawks forward Brandon Hagel] screaming," Suter said. "I didn't know it was in. I just heard the post, so yeah, it was a relief."
Mattias Janmark scored, and Kevin Lankinen made 34 saves and assisted on the game-winner for the Blackhawks, who swept the two-game set in Dallas. They defeated the Stars 2-1 in overtime Sunday.
"That was a big win, two big wins for this team," Lankinen said. "I think we did a really good job hanging in there today, and obviously it feels great."
Roope Hintz scored, and Jake Oettinger made 27 saves for Dallas (5-2-3), which is 1-2-3 after a 4-0-0 start.
"We played well enough to win that game. We certainly created enough offense to win that game," Stars coach Rick Bowness said. "Give their goalie credit. We have three breakaways, you hope you hit one, but he made some big saves. We missed a couple of open nets and that's the difference right there."

CHI@DAL: Hintz tucks home backhander for opening goal

Jason Robertson stole the puck from Suter and passed to Hintz, who scored on his backhand for a 1-0 Dallas lead at 4:57 of the first period.
Jamie Benn appeared to extend the lead to 2-0 at 4:10 of the second period when he lifted a shot into the net. The goal was disallowed due to goaltender interference after a coach's challenge by Chicago.
"The overturned goal was a key moment in the game, but I thought we got better as the game went on," Blackhawks coach Jeremy Colliton said. "Big power-play goal there in the second. … We had an excellent third [period] and that's the proper response when you find a way to stay in the game for two periods that I thought were really good."
Janmark tied it 1-1 at 14:04 when he tipped Dominik Kubalik's shot from the right face-off circle between Oettinger's legs for a power-play goal.
Janmark signed a one-year contract with the Blackhawks on Oct. 12 after four seasons with the Stars. He has nine points (five goals, four assists) in 14 games with Chicago.
"It felt great," Janmark said of scoring against his former team. "It's all I could ask for coming here. It felt really good, especially winning and scoring. It was a big goal too, so those feel a little better too."

Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen denied Patrick Kane's wraparound to keep it tied at 4:34 of the third period.
"I thought in the third we make things difficult on us in the first five minutes or so just by turnovers and giving them momentum, but I thought we got it back as the period went on," Stars forward Andrew Cogliano said. "We're just not doing enough to win games right now, and it's not good enough in a shortened season like this. You have to find a way to win games."
NOTES: Madison Bowey had two hits and blocked one shot 10:28 in his Blackhawks debut. The defenseman signed a two-year contract with Chicago on Jan. 28. … Lankinen is the 42nd goalie in NHL history to have an assist on a game-winning goal for his first NHL point. … Blackhawks forwards Alex DeBrincat (four goals, five assists) and Kane (three goals, seven assists) each had his point streak end at five games. … The Blackhawks are 12-for-12 on the penalty kill in their past five games. … Chicago used 11 forwards and seven defensemen after defenseman Connor Murphy (right hip) was a late scratch. Colliton did not have an update. … Stars forward Joel Kiviranta had three hits in 17:33 after missing eight games with a lower-body injury.
