Blackhawks, Bruins unveil old school Winter Classic logos
Throwback designs for game at Notre Dame Stadium date back 80-plus years

The Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins are throwing it back to the 1920s and 1930s for the 2019 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic at Notre Dame Stadium.
The logos released Friday by the teams for the annual outdoor game on New Year's Day were worn by their players 80+ years ago. The Bruins logo, a "B" with a yellow outline, had two versions in the 1930s. The primary color was brown for 1932-34. Their Winter Classic logo is the black "B" used from 1934-50.
The Blackhawks are opting for their original black-and-white logo. The crest was used from the team's inception in 1926 until 1935. That's back when they were known as the Black Hawks.
On Jan. 1, 2019, we’ll be throwing it back—way back—to the striking sweaters of the 1920s and '30s.
