Cheifs beat Portland 4-3, send first-round WHL series to seventh game @NHL

PORTLAND, Ore. - Levko Koper had two goals and Tyler Johnson added three assists to lead the Spokane Chiefs over the Portland Winterhawks 4-3 in Western Hockey League playoff action Monday.

The Chiefs tied the best-of-seven Western Conference quarter-final 3-3. The home team has yet to win a game in the series. Game 7 is Wednesday in Spokane, Wash.

Tyler Beach, on the power play, and Kenton Miller also scored for Spokane.

Troy Rutkowski, on the power play, Luke Walker and Nino Niederreiter replied for Portland.

Chiefs goalie James Reid made 40 saves, while Mac Carruth stopped 33 shots for the Winterhawks.
