Chandler Stephenson's four-point night leads Pats over Broncos 5-1 @NHLdotcom

REGINA - Chandler Stephenson scored two goals and two assists Friday to help the Regina Pats down the Swift Current Broncos 5-1 in the Western Hockey League.

Lane Scheidl added a goal and three assists for Regina (1-0-0), Jack Rodewald added a goal and an assist and Morgan Klimchuk also scored. Brandon Davidson had two assists.

All tje offence came without the help of Jordan Weal, one of the WHL's top five scorers each of the last two seasons.

Weal recently returned to the Pats from the Los Angeles Kings training camp and was in the rink Friday night but not in uniform.

The other five players Regina sent to NHL camps are back except for Garrett Mitchell. The Washington Capitol pick is currently with the Hershey Bears of the AHL.

Brad Hoban had the only goal for Swift Current (0-1-0).

Matt Hewitt was solid between the pipes for Regina, making 25 stops.

Taking the loss for the Broncos was Austin Smith, who finished with 18 saves.
