Chad Ruhwedel Pittsburgh Penguins

Chad Ruhwedel started the Pittsburgh Penguins' Summer with the Stanley Cup in his hometown of San Diego on Friday.
The defenseman brought the trophy to more than 1,000 fans at San Diego Ice Arena, where he played youth hockey.

"It's here! The best trophy in sports is here in San Diego," Ruhwedel said, according to NBC 7 San Diego. "It's so cool. I was thinking a hundred, maybe 200; when I heard it was going to be around a thousand people or more, it just blew my mind. It's crazy. I'm fortunate to have this kind of support. I am glad I can bring it back to San Diego."
Ruhwedel, 27, played six games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He was plus-9 in 34 regular-season games in his first season with the Penguins after playing four for the Buffalo Sabres.
He signed a two-year contract with Pittsburgh on June 22.
