Chabot on his way to All-Star Weekend

With the rest of his teammates earning a bit of a break over the next week and a half, Sens defenceman Thomas Chabot hopped on a plane this morning and is on his way to All-Star Weekend in San Jose.

Chabot, who currently sits third in team scoring with 39 points in 42 games, is in the midst of a break out season in Ottawa and is excited about being named to represent the Senators among the league's best after receiving his first NHL All-Star nomination.
"Having the chance to meet some other players that you might never get the opportunity to play with is going to be great," said Chabot about being a part of the Atlantic Division squad. "Everyone that I've talked to who has been to an All-Star Game just tells me to enjoy the experience as much as I can because it goes by quick."

The on-ice portion of All-Star Weekend kicks off with the Skills Competition on Friday night and while the event assignments haven't been revealed yet, Chabot is thrilled to take part after missing out on this year's Sens Skills due to an injury.
"I don't know what event I'm doing yet but just having the chance to even participate is going to be a lot of fun," he shared. "I'm looking forward to it and it's going to be a great experience."
Chabot has fond memories of one event in particular and while he waits to find out what he'll be doing at tomorrow night's Skills Competition, one contest always had his attention as a kid.
"I used to always watch the hardest shot competition," Chabot recalled. "That was kind of a big deal growing up to see who had the hardest shot in the league."
The 2019 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend starts this Friday at SAP Center with NHL All-Star Skills at 9 p.m. ET (CBC, SN, TVAS) and concludes with the Honda NHL All-Star Game on Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET (CBC, SN, TVAS). For more details on this weekend, visit
