LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - Cameron Cepek scored the winner in the eighth round of a shootout as the Edmonton Oil Kings beat the Lethrbidge Hurricanes 4-3 in Western Hockey League action Tuesday night.
The Oil Kings (6-6-1-2) rallied from 2-0 and 3-1 deficits to get the game to overtime, then saw Cepek, Robin Figren and Brenden Dowd net goals, while only two Lethbridge shooters, Adam Chorneyko and Dwight King, managed to get the puck by winning goaltender Alex Archibald.
Tomas Vincour, Brent Raedeke and Brent Henke scored for Edmonton in regulation time.
Lethbridge (9-7-1-1) got goals from Mitch Fadden, Zach Boychuk and King in regulation as the Hurricanes saw their five-game win streak come to an end.
Archibald made 28 stops for the Oil Kings while the Hurricanes got 25 saves from Michael Maniago.
