The Centennial Fan Arena is a tribute to a century of hockey and gives fans the chance to experience the history of the game with a museum truck, the Stanley Cup, a rink for youth hockey players and more. There are activities and exhibits for fans of all ages that illustrate the history of hockey and how it has evolved during the past 100 years.
"For Predators fans, this will appeal to fans of all ages," NHL Executive VP of Communications Gary Meagher said. "The Stanley Cup will be here, you can get your picture taken with the Cup. If you've never driven a Zamboni in your life, you're going to be able to drive a Zamboni in virtual reality, which is a really cool experience. And then our piece de resistance, which is our museum truck, which is about 1,000 square feet of interactive, digital, historic artifacts. Really something for everybody in terms of the fans."
Former Predators, goaltender Tomas Vokoun and forward Greg Johnson, will be in attendance at the event on Saturday.
Nashville hosted the 2016 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend, which was well-received from Predators fans and fans around the League. The Centennial Fan Arena will give the fans another opportunity to enjoy a unique experience and relive hockey history.
"We were here just over a year ago for All-Star Weekend, which was an unbelievable experience for everyone who traveled in," Meagher said. "People still talk about it today in terms of the job Nashville did. I think, a year later, to bring our 100-year traveling museum on wheels to Nashville for Predators fans is just another great thing for fans to enjoy."
The NHL will be providing a $5,000 Diversity and Inclusion Grant to Special Olympics Tennessee.
