Rosters announced for Centennial Classic Alumni Game

Brendan Shanahan, Mats Sundin, Nicklas Lidstrom and Darryl Sittler are among retired NHL greats who will play for the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs at the 2017 Rogers NHL Centennial Classic Alumni Game at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto on Dec. 31.
More than 40 retired players are scheduled to participate in the game, which precedes the 2017 Scotiabank NHL Centennial Classic between the Red Wings and Maple Leafs on Jan. 1. The Centennial Classic is a rematch of the 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic, where a record crowd of 105,491 at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan, watched the Maple Leafs win 3-2 in a shootout.

The roster is as of Nov. 15. Additions or changes may be made leading up to the game.
The alumni game will have three 20-minute periods in running time and two 12-minute intermissions. Tickets are available through
