CLEVELAND - Cedrick Desjardins stopped all 29 shots he faced on Sunday as the Lake Erie Monsters shut out the Toronto Marlies 4-0 in American Hockey League action.
Luke Walker and Stefan Elliott both scored on the power play for the Monsters (4-6-1), while Evan Brophey had a goal at even strength. Eric Hunter put the puck into an empty net.
Jussi Rynnas made 22 saves on 25 shots for the Marlies (5-3-1).
Lake Erie was 2-for-6 on the power play, while Toronto went 0-for-7 with the man advantage.
Brophey and Elliot scored in the first seven minutes of play, staking the Monsters to an early lead.
Walker scored 13:12 into the second period.
The Marlies have two losses in a row after dropping to Lake Erie 2-1 on Friday night. The two teams played each other five times in October, with the Monsters winning three of the games.
