OWEN SOUND, Ont. - Daniel Catenacci set up all three goals to lead the Owen Sound Attack to a 3-1 win over the Barrie Colts in Ontario Hockey League action Wednesday.
It was Owen Sound's 10th consecutive victory over the Colts.
Jarrod Maidens and Joseph Blandisi each had a goal and an assist, while Gemel Smith added a single for Owen Sound (14-11-4), which has not lost to Barrie since Dec. 9, 2009.
With the win, the Attack leapfrog Sault Ste. Marie for fifth place in the Western Conference.
Tanner Pearson, from Zach Hall and Steven Beyers, replied for Barrie (13-10-3), which has dropped two straight games.
Scott Stajcer turned aside 38 shots for the win, while Mathias Niederberger, who has started 22 of 26 games for the Colts this season, made 27 saves in defeat.
Owen Sound went 0-for-3 on the power play while Barrie went were kept scoreless on five opportunities.
Maidens, a projected first-round pick for the 2012 NHL entry draft, opened the scoring 41 seconds into the first period when he took a pass from rookie Blandisi in the slot and fired a snap shot past Niederberger.
Barrie left-wing Pearson, the OHL's leading scorer, took advantage of an Owen Sound turnover in the neutral zone to tie the game 1-1 at 12:27 of the second frame with his 20th goal of the season.
Smith provided the Attack with a 2-1 lead with his 13th goal of the season at 11:11 of the third period.
Blandisi added an empty-net goal with 56 seconds remaining.
