Catenacci hasfour points to lift the Rangers over the Otters 8-1 @NHLdotcom

KITCHENER, Ont. - Michael Catenacci had four points and Franky Palazzese made 32 saves as the Kitchener Rangers pounded the Erie Otters 8-1 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Tobias Rieder and Cody Sol each scored twice for the Rangers (14-6-1) while Brent Pederson, Keli Grant, Matia Marcantuoni and Catenacci added singles.

Luke Cairns scored the lone goal for the Otters (3-18-0).

Tyson Teichmann turned aside 30 of 36 shots for the Otters but was replaced in the third period by Devin Williams, who stopped 10 of 12 shots.

Erie was 1-for-6 on the power play and never played shorthanded.

Kitchener outshot Erie 48-33.
