Carruth makes 20 saves as Winterhawks take 2-0 series lead against the Rockets @NHLdotcom

PORTLAND, Ore. - Mac Carruth stopped all 20 shots he faced as the Portland Winterhawks blanked the visiting Kelowna Rockets 4-0 on Saturday in Western Hockey League playoff action.

Ty Rattie had a goal and an assist for the Winterhawks while Brad Ross, Tyler Wotherspoon and Troy Rutkowski scored a goal apiece.

Sven Bartschi chipped in with two assists.

Zach Franko and Brett Bulmer were both a team-worst minus-2 for the Rockets.

Adam Brown stopped 35 of 39 shots in a losing effort.

Portland went 2 for 8 on the power play as Kelowna failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.

The Winterhawks now lead the series 2-0 with Game 3 to take place this Tuesday in Kelowna.
