Carrick scores twice to lead the Battalion over the Otters 5-2 @NHLdotcom

BRAMPTON, Ont. - Sam Carrick scored twice as the Brampton Battalion defeated the visiting Erie Otters 5-2 on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League action.

Brandon Robinson, Philip Lane and Mitchell Porowski also scored for the Battalion (24-11-8), who jumped over the Niagara IceDogs for top spot in the Central Division.

Liam Maaskant and Sondre Olden each had a goal for the Otters (5-35-2), who have now lost eight in a row.

Matej Machovsky made 19 saves for the win while Ramis Sadikov turned away 37 shots in defeat.

Brampton went 0 for 3 on the power play, however their league-best penalty kill also kept Erie from scoring on any of their six chances with the man advantage.
