Carrick scores twice as Battalion beat Colts 5-2 @NHLdotcom

BARRIE, Ont. - Sam Carrick scored twice as the Brampton Battalion defeated the host Barrie Colts 5-2 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Barclay Goodrow and Brett Mackie each had a goal and an assist for the Battalion (35-22-10), who clinched the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, while Mitchell Porowski added a single goal.

Tanner Pearson and Anthony Camara both scored for the Colts (40-23-5), who own the third seed in the East.

Matej Machovsky made 15 saves for the win as Mathias Niederberger stopped 40 shots in a losing effort.

Brampton went 2 for 5 on the power play while Barrie failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.
