BRAMPTON, Ont. - Ken Peroff's power-play goal at 11:54 of the third period stood as the winner as the Brampton Battalion skated to a 5-2 victory over the Sarnia Sting in Ontario Hockey League action Sunday afternoon.
Sam Carrick scored twice for Brampton (15-20-9), while Sean Jones and Matt McLeod also tallied. Patrick Killeen made 16 saves for the win.
Brandon Francisco and Kale Kerbashian replied for Sarnia (14-29-3), while Jesse Raymond stopped 28 shots.
Carrick opened the scoring for the Troops 6:09 into the game before Francisco tied it a mere 52 seconds later on the man advantage.
Brampton again went in front at 9:49 of the second period when MacLeod redirected a Stephon Thorne centring feed through Raymond's five-hole.
At the 13:24 mark, Kerbashian again levelled the score on the power play, firing a quick shot by Killeen.
Following Peroff's eventual winning tally, Jones made it 4-2 Brampton with his team-leading 24th goal of the season before Carrick rounded out the scoring in the final seconds with an empty netter, his second goal of the afternoon.
The win snapped a five-game skid for the Battalion while Sarnia lost their seventh game in a row.
