Defenseman Jakub Nakladal had his contract terminated by the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday.

Nakladal, 28, was a minus-4 in 14:30 of ice time per game in three games this season. He last played Nov. 8 against the New Jersey Devils. He also played three games for Team Czech Republic at the World Cup of Hockey 2016.
He had signed a one-year, $600,000 contract with the Hurricanes on Oct. 9.
Last season, Nakladal made his NHL debut, and had two goals and three assists in 27 games with the Calgary Flames.
Prior to coming to the NHL, Nakladal spent nine seasons playing in his native Czech Republic, Russia and Finland.
