RALEIGH, N.C. - The Carolina Hurricanes recalled forward Patrick Dwyer from their minor-league affiliate in Albany.

The Hurricanes said Sunday before their game against Toronto that they brought up Dwyer on an emergency basis after centre Matt Cullen injured his leg the day before in a 3-1 loss to Edmonton.

The 25-year-old Dwyer had three goals and an assist in eight games with Albany, and is in his third season in the Hurricanes organization. He was expected to be available to skate against the Maple Leafs.
