Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Justin Faulk is week to week with a lower-body injury, coach Bill Peters said Tuesday.
Faulk was injured during a 3-2 overtime win against the Boston Bruins at PNC Arena on Dec. 23. He leads Hurricanes defensemen with seven goals and 16 points. Read: Fantasy impact of Faulk injury Defenseman Ryan Murphy will take Faulk's place in a pair with Ron Hainsey against the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena on Wednesday (7 p.m. ET; ROOT, FS-CR, NHL.TV), Peters said. The Hurricanes (15-11-7) are 6-2-2 in their past 10 games and 13-7-5 in November and December. They trail the Philadelphia Flyers by seven points for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference with three games in hand.
