Forward Gustav Nyquist has scored three goals in Detroit's past two games. After not scoring in the first four games of the season, he said it was a relief to score on a wrist shot against Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne during the Red Wings' 5-3 win on Friday. "As a goal-scorer, you know there are always going to be slumps, and you have to fight through them," he said. "It's a great feeling when one goes in, and you immediately get your confidence back." The Red Wings have allowed five goals in their four-game winning streak, and haven't given up an even-strength goal in eight periods. Defenseman Brendan Smith thinks the credit goes beyond the blue line. "We're playing great team defense right now," he said. "Some of that is us, but the forwards are also doing a great job, and both Howie [Jimmy Howard] and [Petr] Mrazek have been great in net. This is happening because of the whole team."
