Carnevale scores twice as Barrie Colts out-pace Brampton Battalion 4-2 @NHLdotcom

BRAMPTON, Ont. - Taylor Carnevale scored twice as the Barrie Colts doubled up the Brampton Battalion 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League play Friday evening.

Bryan Cameron scored his league-leading 52nd goal for Barrie (56-9-2), while Alexander Burmistrov also tallied.

Kyle Perira and Scott Tanski provided the offence for Brampton (24-29-14).

After a scoreless first period, Pereira got the Battalion on the board with a power-play goal at 1:34 of the second period when his point shot got through traffic and beat Mavric Parks.

Carnevale tied the game at the 5:04 mark and Cameron vaulted the Colts into the lead 1:58 later. Carnevale tallied on the man advantage at 15:56 to give the OHL's top-ranked team a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes.

Tanski brought Brampton within one :20 into the final frame before Burmistrov provided the insurance marker for Barrie at 7:53.

Patrick Killeen stopped 28 of 32 shots for the Battalion while Park made 27 saves.
