Caps participate in D.C. schools beautification day @NHLdotcom
Coach Bruce Boudreau, defenseman Brian Pothier and members of the Washington Capitals front office will participate in the annual D.C. Public Schools (DCPS) Beautification Day on Saturday, Aug. 22 from 8 a.m. to noon. DCPS Beautification Day is part of the nationwide United We Serve program, which is a joint initiative between the White House and the Corporation for National and Community Service and runs from June 22 - Sept. 11.
Fans are encouraged to volunteer with the Capitals and participate in the event. The Capitals will be hosting projects at Emery Education Campus in Northeast Washington and King Elementary School in Southeast Washington.

The Caps and volunteers will help spruce up the schools for the upcoming school year and will be planting flowers, mulching, painting, cleaning and assembling goody bags for students.
