Dmitry Orlov is rejoining the Washington Capitals.
The talented defenseman, a second-round pick in the 2009 NHL Draft and a fixture on the Capitals' blue line as a rookie last season, was officially recalled by the team from Hershey of the American Hockey League on Monday.
Orlov will participate in practice Tuesday morning in Pittsburgh, where the Capitals will face the Penguins at Consol Energy Center on Tuesday night.
Orlov had three goals and 19 points in 60 games for the Capitals last season.
While playing in Hershey during the lockout, he suffered an upper-body injury in early December and missed over two months of action. He had a goal and 12 points in 22 AHL games this season.
