Best moment: It happened in a loss, but it's impossible to ignore Ovechkin's goal simply because of the nature of the snap shot. It started with a drop pass from Capitals defenseman Matt Niskanen to Ovechkin above the left circle. Ovechkin got the puck and in one motion snapped a heavy, hard and high shot that went clean in over Penguins goalie Matt Murray's glove. It was the kind of shot that makes Ovechkin so dangerous; the kind of shot that as much as Murray was in position to make the save, he simply couldn't because it was by him before he could react. The problem for Ovechkin and the Capitals is all the goal did was make it 3-1 with 11:58 to play in the third period. It was their 37th shot of the game, but the first one they got passed Murray, who finished with 47 saves.

Crosby said it: "Well, I think you feel fortunate. Sometimes you have to learn lessons. Obviously this one is better to learn. We won the game, but we can't expect to play like that and continue to win. I think we all understand that and we know we need to better for Game 4."
Ovechkin said it: "I think we played a solid game. Unfortunately, two lucky bounces and they put it in. They used our mistakes. They were waiting and they used it. So, it's a good lesson. A good response by us after 3-0, coming back. I think we played well tonight the whole game. The goalie played well on their side, but we set the tone and delivered the message."
