There was less than one full second left in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final, but Washington Capitals radio broadcaster John Walton could barely contain himself.

With forward Lars Eller about to take the faceoff, Walton's voice was already rising in volume as he was about to make the call the franchise has waited to hear for 43 seasons.

"It's not a dream! It's not a desert mirage! It's Lord Stanley and he is coming to Washington!" Walton exclaimed as the Capitals players celebrated on the ice at T-Mobile Arena.
Walton's call was on the money for listeners who had suffered through years of early exits, especially recenlty. The veteran broadcaster even got a chance to lift the Cup himself.

Walton also shared a picture of Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin, the Conn Smythe Trophy winner.

For the entire Capitals organization, this one was definitely worth the wait.
