Turkey shoots... turkey scores!

The Washington Capitals went delightfully overboard in their celebration of Thanksgiving Eve on Wednesday night at the Verizon Center.

The team's Twitter account changed its profile pic to a red and navy blue cartoon turkey and changed its display name to #CapsGiving with a turkey emoji, but they were just getting started.

There was also a pie-eating contest at the arena, with the winner getting a signed Alex Ovechkin jersey.

The team hosted a curling event on the ice with turkeys at first intermission.

At second intermission, the Capitals sent out the Mites on Ice. But this time, they were all wearing turkey costumes.

We can only imagine how much more would have been done if the game was played on Thursday.
